About

About me

Nora Gonzalez (Buenos Aires, 1983) is a visual artist focused on figurative painting with surrealist undertones

She works with oil, acrylic, graphite, and ink on canvas or paper, and develops her pieces through a process that involves photography sessions, sketches, and digital editing.

Her work explores human behavior, emotions, and communication—both verbal and non-verbal—including gestures, eye contact, and body language. She often portrays these themes through female figures, children, and impossible architectural spaces. Since an early age, painting has been a way for her to channel her inner world. She studied practical and theoretical painting, human and animal anatomy, color theory (Munsell system), art history, image and gender analysis, museum exhibition techniques, among other subjects. She has also worked as a tattoo artist for 24 years, creating original designs influenced by classical art and traditional American and Japanese tattoo styles. In 2022, she moved to northern Italy, and since 2023 she has been living in Dublin with her daughter, where she continues to develop both disciplines.
